Day 16: The Relevance Of Our God's Existence.

Day 16: The Relevance Of Our God's Existence.

Read: Romans 1:19 - 20

I’d like to talk about the relevance of our God for today. I desire to make an effort to give light to those divine characteristics that make God who He is, how those aspects of his character all work together in bringing us into and eternal relationship. I also want to show how we can use our finite understanding of God’s nature as a starting place, an eye opening rationale, as a spiritual sort of medicated balm to respond to our life problems and challenges in a Biblical way. It all sounds so complicated to try and give a reason for this mornings offering. I pray that it will come together for you.

Today, one cannot help but notice that there is an ongoing debate over whether or not God even exists. God is invisible. Scripture is clear in declaring that no one has ever seen God and lived to write or tell about it. There are no clues that even the best of modern detectives can follow. Where are the bread crumbs that lead back to the one place, the one scene that so many of us feels needs to be factually revealed? So it makes sense that those who choose to say God doesn't exist because there is no way to prove it believe the way that they do. Truth is, God actually left us clues.

What is revealed to us through these verses is that the knowledge of God isn’t just something that we can discover if we look real hard, but rather it is "evident" within each of us and in nature, it is "clearly seen"; His "power" and "nature", can be plainly "understood" from the things we see around us, from "what has been made" by God;
"God made it evident" ("clearly seen"). He WANTS us to know Him. People can and do choose to suppress or deny God's existence or the reality of God's role in their lives. It is okay because what they try and deny the existence of they have to first think about. The 'seed' of thought gets planted, that's all God needs to work on the skeptics heart.

Almighty God has not only revealed Himself in what we can observe in nature; but, He has revealed Himself even more specifically through His written Word! The vast thoughts, the absolute complexity of His personality; the attitudes of Almighty God can only be known if Almighty God chooses to reveal them to us - and, my brothers and sisters, He does choose to do so through the vehicle of the Holy Bible! Almighty God wants us to know Him! He has told us everything relevant we need to know about His character, how we are to relate to Him! God wants us to know that He lives.

Let us Pray: Lord, some days I am just as skeptic as so many others whether You are or are not. Use my skepticism against me, be it ever so easy or ever the most difficult, Awaken me to Your Presence, empower my whole being with Your reality that I may return to Your side. Be thou my vision. Be thou my truest wisdom O Lord.
