Day 39: The Spirit Glorifies The Son
Read: John 16:12 - 15
Well, here it is, that time of the year when we turn our clocks back
one hour and our sleep cycles get thrown out of balance. Spring forward
and Fall back are not the most favored times of the year. Falling back usually signals the oncoming of colder, windier and rainier weather. I cannot speak for anybody else's body, however this time of the year also usually signals painful joints, colds, the flu, sinuses going crazy. Our body is supposed to be a Temple to the Lord but at this time of the year one has to wonder. The human body is a remarkable machine. It maintains a constant
temperature of 98.6 degrees. At the Arctic Circle or the equator, the
temperature is about the same.
It is to the glory of the
unsearchable wisdom of God our Creator that our bodies are able to
perform and function in such a stabilizing and balanced manner. It is to
the greater glory of our God that He has placed within us an inner
mechanism that makes the difference for our physical selves. The Holy
Spirit likewise dwells within the Christian to achieve this inner
stabilization in terms of spiritual health. Whether we face good times
or bad, whether we are confronted by temptation or receiving spiritual
nourishment, the Holy Spirit keeps us stable within. As is the glory of
God the Father, is likewise the glory of the Holy Spirit which brings to
mind Jesus the Son.
The Holy Spirit communicates the message
of the Good News of Jesus Christ with the heart of the believer. Where
there is there exists a sense of imbalance within the inner self, the
Holy Spirit rushes forth into our consciousness and exhorts us, guides
us forward into the truth of God’s Word where the glorious love of Jesus
Christ is now revealed and prayerfully more fully realized and
experienced, where the cold heart that once may have been or currently
is, finds itself feeling strangely warmed up. It is the Holy Spirit
which glorifies all things that are of the Son of God by helping us all to remember that the glory which is the perfect completeness of the Triune God brings Their glorious completeness to us all.
Let Us Pray: Holy Spirit, be with me today. Be my teacher, my guide, my
counselor, my friend. Fill me with your gifts, especially the gifts of
wisdom, discernment, knowledge, understanding, compassion, love, and awe
in God's presence. Push me and Guide me, lead me along the difficult
and winding path toward thy completeness.
