Day 51: Forward Through The Impossible
Read: Psalm 13; Matthew 17:14 - 20
Yesterday, after what undoubtedly seemed like an eternity to get there,
you finally reached the doors of God's Kingdom. You have been trying
along time to get God's attention. Finally the opportunity awaits
directly in front of you. You never thought it would ever happen. You
would never let yourself believe to that this moment was even possible.
It was an utter impossibility that you would find yourself standing in
front of God's kingdom doors. You have been complaining about this and
that forever, you have been on your knees in humble prayer for who
knows how long and there was no response. But now, all of a sudden,
there is something different, a change!
It was almost
imperceptible, you barely noticed it at first. You probably dismissed it
at first, gave it little or no heed. Then there was another unexpected
change, then another and unexpected change just kept coming and coming.
Before you realized it, after stepping forward through each of these
changes, you are standing at the very doors of God's own kingdom on
earth as it is in heaven. You knocked on the door and the impossible
happened: Father, Son, Holy Spirit took you by the hand and ushered you in. You moved forward in faith with each change. You slowly believed there would be another waiting for you. The next thing you realize when you look up: it was God.
Very subtly, you were being drawn into the Presence of Father Son and
Holy Spirit. Each step forward that you took through those unexpected
changes in your life were steps into what you yourself previously
held to be utterly impossible. God was is and always shall be at your
side touching your shoulder and quietly urging you forward. The Holy
Spirit will touch your spirit while you are listening to what your heart
would never believe was the least bit possible, and the Love of Jesus
Christ will touch your heart after each step forward. Before you realize
it you'll have stepped through the realm of the impossible into the
Kingdom of 'all things are possible through God'!!!
But I trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me. (Psalm 13:5 - 6)
Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, ‘Why could we not
cast it out?’ He said to them, ‘Because of your little faith. For truly I
tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to
this mountain, “Move from here to there”, and it will move; and nothing
will be impossible for you.’ (Matthew 17:19 - 20)
Let us
pray: God of all possibilities, look upon my heart at what it steadfastly holds to
be utterly impossible. Look upon my spirits' truest desires and by your mercy
find favor. Place before my heart the wonders of all the possibilities
if I but put one foot in front of the other and by faith, step forward
and then forward again and again to thy kingdom door. Holy Spirit; please open my eyes that I
may see visions of truth you have for me. Lord Jesus
Christ, I do now willingly surrender my impossible moments to your grace. Lord, Help my
unbelief.
